Punjab CM Gives Approval of Lahore Master Plan 2050

On October 18, A Meeting of the Lahore Development Authority’s (LDA) governing body was conducted where the Chief Minister of Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi approved the Lahore Master Plan 2050.

During the meeting, Mr. David who is the meeting’s consultant for master planning provided a thorough introduction to the master plan of Lahore. Participants talked about regional planning, economic growth, and other topics.

The CM mentioned that the needs of the residents are increasing and it will be taken into account in the Lahore master plan 2050. He continued by saying that residents of the suburbs would have access to the same amenities as city dwellers. It was disclosed that extensive planting would be done to create buffer zones.

The CM authorized one-window operation for overseas Pakistanis in LDA’s housing developments during the same meeting. This will make it possible for people to buy plots from the authorities in a single day. According to the news source, abroad Pakistanis will receive plot transfer services on the same day.

Additionally, CM Elahi gave the appropriate authorities instructions to implement the Shahdara plan and begin the construction work. In order to improve traffic flow, he also declared that the public transportation system would be built on contemporary lines and include flyovers and interchanges. The chief minister advised those present to encourage the culture of multi-story buildings rather than obtaining more agricultural land.

The assembly approved the building of an overhead bridge for Motorcyclists at Azadi Chowk. The construction of a flyover and an underpass to eliminate signals at Akbar Chowk was also approved at the meeting. Moreover, the meeting approved the amendments to LDA Building and Zoning Regulations 2019.
