DHA Valley Land Issues and Plot Allotment scams:
Despite being one of the most coveted real estate projects of Islamabad, DHA Valley has been under hot water since its inception because it failed to accommodate all of its allottees (more than 50,000) due to a shortage of land. Furthermore, DHA Islamabad needs to vacate a portion of its land from the villagers residing there who are not ready to leave their homes. This may lead to a conflict between DHAI and the villagers. DHA Valley management is also facing NAB investigation since 2018 for alleged scams of over Rs. 62 billion wherein no land was given to allottees despite receiving Rs. 62 billion from them. These issues and scams have marred the image of the authorities involved in this project and have substantially retarded the construction and development process in DHA Valley.
