On Thursday, the joint session of parliament will pass the Rent Control Act in Islamabad in next week to fulfill a long-standing demand of traders of Islamabad said by Federal Planning and Development Minister Asad Umar, as reported by the news sources. 

Rent Restriction Ordinance 2001 will be amended to protect the rights of tenants and landlords. 

While addressing the event, the minister informed that the Rent Control Act will fulfill a long-standing demand of businessmen of Islamabad.

The traders informed the minister that they have been facing the threat of eviction and it is impacting their business negatively. Moreover, the alarming problem of parking in Islamabad will also be resolved through an emergency action plan, the federal minister assured.

The planning minister said he would soon hold a meeting with a delegation of traders on the issue of parking, especially in the commercial areas. Two parking plazas have been approved by CDA in the Islamabad main commercial areas i.e. Blue Area and F-8 Markaz.

The president of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Shakeel Munir, was also invited to consider the establishment of an industrial zone around Islamabad.
