On Tuesday, under the supervision of Chairman CDA Amir Ali Ahmed, an essential meeting was held in which all board members were present. The project summary will be sent to the Federal Cabinet for final approval. The CDA administration is planning a project in the federal capital titled “Islamabad Bus Service” to give modern and excellent transit services to the inhabitants of Islamabad, which would be launched after the final clearance of the Federal Cabinet.

The project will begin with 30 buses, but this number will be increased in the near future. The bus service will start from:

  • Soan Interchange to Faisal Masjid

  • Bhara Kahu to Faiz Ahmed Faiz Metro Bus Station

  • Tarnol Railway Stationto N-5 Metro Bus Station

There will be 64 stops (stations) along the routes, with modern and tight security systems at each bus stop (station), as well as a tuck shop and public restrooms. It should be mentioned that all of the buses will have air conditioning and a seating capacity of 70 people, with priority seats reserved for ladies and special needs passengers.

Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., with the times subject to change based on public demand. Separate parking areas and depots will be built for the three bus routes, as well as bus filling facilities that will assist the general public in addition to refilling the buses. Additionally, advertisement signboards will be put at each bus stop (station), assisting the corporation in collecting cash.
The CDA administration will purchase buses, build bus stops (stations), renovate them, build depots and parking areas, while the project will be overseen by the Metro Command and Control Center. The project will be open to the public by December after formal approval by the Federal Cabinet.
