Job Overview

Beacon Investment is hiring a Site Operations Engineer for a full-time, on-site position in Islamabad / Rawalpindi.

We are looking for a practical and proactive civil engineering professional with 3–5 years of hands-on building construction experience who can independently manage daily site operations, construction labor, materials, subcontractors, quality control, site expenses, and project progress.

About the Role

The Site Operations Engineer will be responsible for keeping day-to-day construction activities organized, productive, and on schedule.

This is a hands-on site role suited to an engineer who understands how construction actually moves on the ground — from assigning labor and arranging materials to checking workmanship, coordinating subcontractors, controlling expenses, and resolving daily execution issues.

You will work closely with project management, contractors, vendors, consultants, and site teams to ensure construction progresses according to approved drawings, quality standards, budgets, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Site Operations

• Manage and supervise daily construction activities on site.
• Plan daily work targets and assign tasks to labor teams and subcontractors.
• Monitor workforce productivity and construction output.
• Identify and resolve site execution bottlenecks before they affect project progress.
• Ensure work is completed according to approved architectural and structural drawings.
• Maintain proper site discipline, organization, and safety standards.

Labor & Subcontractor Management

• Supervise skilled and unskilled construction labor.
• Coordinate daily activities of civil, masonry, steel, shuttering, finishing, MEP, and specialized subcontractors.
• Monitor subcontractor performance against assigned scope and timelines.
• Verify completed work before measurement and billing.
• Maintain labor attendance, productivity, and work records.

Quality Control & Construction Inspection

• Inspect ongoing civil, structural, and finishing works.
• Monitor reinforcement, shuttering, concrete pouring, curing, brickwork, plaster, flooring, and finishing works.
• Check construction quality against approved drawings and specifications.
• Identify defective or non-compliant work and ensure timely corrective action.
• Coordinate inspections with consultants and project management where required.

Material Inspection & Site Inventory

• Inspect incoming construction materials including steel, cement, aggregates, blocks, bricks, electrical/plumbing materials, and finishing items.
• Check quantity, condition, specifications, and relevant quality documentation.
• Monitor material consumption and daily usage rates.
• Maintain proper site storage and inventory records to minimize wastage.

Procurement & Material Coordination

• Forecast materials required for upcoming construction activities and prepare requisitions.
• Obtain and compare quotations from local suppliers, coordinating vendor deliveries to prevent site downtime.
• Support negotiations with suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery timelines.

Site Expenses & Cost Control

• Maintain accurate records of daily site expenses and petty cash.
• Verify labor sheets, contractor measurements, delivery challans, and invoices.
• Review Measurement Books (MBs) and subcontractor running bills.
• Monitor costs against approved budgets to prevent cost overruns.

BOQs & Quantity Take-Offs

• Read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
• Calculate construction quantities and material requirements.
• Assist in preparing and reviewing Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and material take-offs.
• Support cost estimation and variation calculations.

Progress Monitoring & Reporting

• Track daily and weekly construction progress against targets.
• Maintain site photographs, progress records, and daily activity logs.
• Prepare clear progress reports for administrative stakeholders.

Qualifications & Requirements

• B.Sc. Civil Engineering, B.Tech Civil Engineering, or DAE Civil Engineering.
• 3–5 years of direct on-site construction experience (residential, commercial, or multi-story buildings).
• Strong understanding of concrete, reinforcement, shuttering, and finishing execution.
• Ability to read structural drawings and perform quantity take-offs.
• Good command of Microsoft Excel for calculations, logs, and reporting.
• Strong site leadership, problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills.
